ChatGPT Beginner Guide: Your First Useful Chat
ChatGPT is OpenAI’s chatbot. Sign up free at chatgpt.com, give it a real task with clear context, then refine. Features and plan limits change often, so check OpenAI’s current release notes.
What is it?
ChatGPT is OpenAI’s AI assistant. It’s widely used as a general-purpose helper for writing, explaining, planning and coding. OpenAI regularly adds features. At its September 2026 DevDay, for example, it announced agents called “Dots” (see our story), but not every feature is available on every plan.
